Stoney Heath

Little Tots Nurseries offers the best foundation for life, the Montessori philosophy is to teach children independence from an early age, every child learns at their own pace and is treated as an individual.  We also pride ourselves on our Forest School which is an inspirational experience, that offers children the opportunity to achieve and develop confidence through hands-on learning in a woodland environment.  To complement our nursery day we also offer extra curriculum activities e.g. Children’s Yoga, Music & Dance and Cooking sessions.

Unlike many nurseries, we benefit from a smaller environment, we take a personal approach and the children remain with the same staff and peer group throughout their time with us, helping them form relationships and gain confidence. All our children are integrated benefiting from strong social bonds, stability and continuity of care. The Montessori ethos encourages “family grouping” where children aged 2-5 work together, with the older children acting as role models for the younger children and the younger children benefiting from learning by example from the older children.  Little Tots put the child and parent’s needs first.

Mixed Age Groups

At Little Tots, children learn in mixed-age groups, building confidence and social skills as they interact with peers of different ages. Younger children learn by watching and joining in with older children, while older children develop leadership and care for others. This approach creates a strong sense of community and stability, with the same caring staff supporting your child throughout their time with us, just like a family.

Forest School

We are proud to have been local pioneers of Forest School, bringing this inspiring outdoor learning approach to our community. Led by two trained instructors, our Forest School programme gives children the chance to explore nature, build confidence, and develop resilience. Through hands-on activities in our woodland space in Padworth, children learn about the natural world, use their imaginations, and develop a lifelong love of the outdoors.

Montessori

Guided by the Montessori philosophy, children learn at their own pace, choosing activities that match their interests and stage of development. This approach helps children develop independence, confidence, and a love of learning as they explore and discover through play. Our Montessori environment encourages children to become curious, motivated learners who are ready for the next stage of their education.
